About Nicholas Henderson
Nicholas graduated from Harvard, where he studied Philosophy, and then worked as Harvard Fellow at Shrewsbury School, where he taught English, History, and started their first-ever SAT preparation program. Here, he developed his methods, which ultimately led to him co-authoring Pearson’s Complete Guide to the SAT in 2011, a classroom tested comprehensive textbook published across Asia.
In 2014, Nicholas established Essai, as a college support service offering high performance test prep and strategic application support. In time, he focused his attention increasingly on counselling, and eventually created a complementary service of comprehensive profile building and creative application support for students of all ages and academic confidence levels.
In his capacity as Head of Counselling, Nicholas spearheaded numerous innovative initiatives, including Essai’s Social Science Research Program, and forged tie-ups to create networks for internships and research program placements. He has also consulted on a school basis with Neerja Modi School and The Shri Ram School, and has developed two learning apps: Cucu, an open-source reading tool, and AE, a smart test prep platform.
In his career, Nicholas has intensively counselled 250+ students, and has helped his undergrad students earn places at Harvard, Cambridge, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, Columbia, and many more. He has been featured in publications like CNN, and seeks continuously to deliver the best quality counselling in Asia.
